The member organization consists of an executive director, senior fellows, fellows, and members.
The executive director, Dr. Christoph Lymbersky, is also the founder of the Turnaround Management Society and is responsible for its day-to-day business.
The senior fellows are members who oversee the development of the International Turnaround Management Standard and who have contributed in a significant way to the Turnaround Management Society.
Fellows are members who have been elected to represent member interests or have contributed in a significant way to the Turnaround Management Society.
Members are members of the Turnaround Management Society who contribute as they are able or who are simply interested in keeping up to date with industry developments.
Dr. Christoph Lymbersky has lived, worked, and carried out research in Germany, France, Australia, and the USA. He holds a Master of Accounting as well as an MBA from Bond University in Australia, and he wrote his PhD on Turnaround Management and Corporate Restructuring Projects.
He has worked for international companies, including IBM and Wal-Mart, and has founded and co-founded companies such as COMODEX Internet, the IT Management Group, and B2B Network. He has written and published a variety of books on international management and finance. Dr. Lymbersky is currently the director of the Management Laboratory, a senior management consultant at Detecon International and is a member of the Council of Economic Advisors of Germany (Wirtschaftsrat) as well as the Strategic Management Society (SMS).
Professor Christophe Bredillet has been the program director of the International Program’s MSc in Project and Program Management, MSc in Supply Chain Management, and its MBA for the past 12 years. He is heavily involved in the Association for Project Management.
Alan Harpham is the Chairman of the APM Group, a consultancy specialising in the accreditation of practitioners, trainers, and consultants in PRINCE 2 and Managing Successful Programs. He is an independent management consultant and director of P5 The Power of Projects, focusing on program management, project management, and executive Coaching.
Alan has experience as a manager and sponsor of programs and projects, particularly new business start-ups.
John M. Collard is a Certified International Turnaround Manager–Level D, who brings 35 years‘ experience of senior operating leadership, $85 million of asset recovery, more than 40 transactions worth over $78o million, and $80 million of fund management expertise to run troubled companies and to advise company boards, litigators, and institutional and private equity investors. John has on many occasions parachuted in as CEO or a senior executive to turn around a troubled entity. He is a former chairman of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and was inducted into the Turnaround Management, Restructuring, and Distressed Investing Industry Hall of Fame, honoring those individuals whose outstanding contributions have increased the stature and respect of our industry. His firm, Strategic Management Partners, Inc., has been an advisor to Presidents Bush (both 41 & 43), Clinton, and Reagan, President Yeltsin, and the World Bank.
Marc Wagner is a partner at DETECON International, the world’s leading ICT consulting company. He is head of the transformation and people management division, has led numerous restructurings of international corporations, and is the founder of the Circle of Excellence Efficiency.
Carsten Ovens has been working in management consulting throughout Europe for several years, including four years as a value engineer with SAP Value Engineering DACH. With a strong background in strategic marketing and value management, he supports clients in optimizing their business strategy to meet market needs. Carsten has lived, studied, and worked in Australia, throughout Europe, and in the United Arab Emirates. He has studied Business Administration at the University of Hamburg, researching brand management strategies and country-of-origin effects. Additionally, he holds a master’s degree in International Business from Macquarie University, Sydney.
Gabor Csomor has gained substantial industry experience as a consultant to a major consulting firm and now works for a German consumer goods company. He advises the Turnaround Management Society on controlling, project management, and industry-specific questions.
Viktor Becher is currently working on the “Covert Translation” project, funded by the German Research Foundation and located at the Special Research Center for Multilingualism of the University of Hamburg.
Dr. Becher’s current work centers on translation and translatability as well as contrastive linguistics. He has presented his work at a number of academic conferences around the world and has published papers in various international journals of general linguistics and translation studies. He is also the Management Laboratory lecturer on evaluating and reading company reports.
Philippe Ruiz is a professor at Skema Business School in France, and an e-learning consultant and contractor.

Olivier Smadja is a managing partner at the Placei Group. He has obtained a master’s in Chemical Engineering and an MBA from the University of California at Irvine. For the past 15 years, he has managed, developed, and restructured manufacturing companies in eastern and western Europe, and in the USA.
Loic Mirieu de Labarre is an assistant professor at Bordeaux University. He has a master’s in Corporate Development and a master’s in Political Science.
At Nestlé Waters he was responsible for quality control and logistics. He also managed three manufacturing companies before starting his own consulting boutique in 1998. He is a now a specialist in foreign outsourcing, with a particular focus on China.
George Jacob is an expert in international commerce and has over 20 years experience in managing, developing, and restructuring sizable manufacturing companies with a high percentage of sales outside their home markets.
He has also set up and developed a dozen industrial plants in eastern Europe and Latin America to penetrate niche markets.
Pierre Frécon holds a master’s in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from INSEAD.
Pierre is an expert in manufacturing excellence (Six-Sigma black belt). Before creating his own company, Obipar, he spent five years working in key operational roles at the Shell Group, both in France and in the USA.
Stephen Warrilow is based in Bristol and works with companies across the UK to provide specialist support to directors delivering significant change initiatives. More than a hundred companies in mid-range corporate, larger SME, and corporate environments have benefited from his 25 years of cross-sector experience. Mr. Warrilow is the Strategic Management Society’s chosen change management expert. He also writes valuable articles and is a consultant for the TMS.
Bino Bach is general manager at Commundo Tagungshotels and has acquired substantial experience in marketing and customer services. His advice and knowledge have been a great contribution to various different projects undertaken by the Turnaround Management Society.
Herman is a marketing and sales process optimization specialist and is a consultant to the Turnaround Management Society in these areas. He has worked for different consulting companies, such as the Management Laboratory, and is currently a partner at Vengun & Partner.
Sabine Klug has received a Master of Arts in Business from the University of San Diego, California. She has worked for major international consulting companies such as Accenture and IBM, specializing in IT work flow process optimization.
Zoltan Csomor has a bachelor’s in Business from Cambridge University, England and is currently studying for an MA in Finance.
Zoltan is an expert in international facility management and a founder of the Facility Management Cooperation. His advice is greatly appreciated.
Harald Lock has studied at the Hanseatische Verwaltungs und Wirtschafts Akademie in Hamburg. He is an organizational specialist certified by the Chamber of Commerce in Hamburg, Germany and a Certified International Turnaround Manager (CITM)–Level B.
Harald is a logistics specialist working for a major logistics company in Germany.
Katja Bellin is a Certified International Turnaround Manager (CITM)–Level B and a human resources specialist consulting at the Turnaround Management Society in HR-related matters. She also contributes to the International Turnaround Management Standard.
Torben Rick is an experienced senior executive, both at a strategic and operational level, with a strong track record in developing, driving, and managing business improvement and development, change management, and turnarounds.
He has extensive operational experience in customer services, business development and improvement, logistics and procurement, product management and development, sales, and cross-functional business improvement. Mr. Rick is a regular contributor to the website of the TMS and the Turnaround Management Journal.
